In July 2019, Anthony Perliss visited us at the tasting room so we could try his new release of Perliss lineup, and we really enjoyed his 2016 ‘The Ravens’ Cabernet Sauvignon. For this vintage, winemaker Aaron Pott used 100% French oak as opposed to previous years where he combined using French oak and clay amphora vats. This estate vineyard is totals 2.5 acres of the hard to find Clone See Cabernet Sauvignon. The only other place I’ve visited that still has acreage of this unique clone is at Screaming Eagle, which has withstood all disease and while low yielding, provides great depth to wine.  “The Ravens gives up warm plums, black cherries and dark chocolate notes with touches of wild sage and tilled soil. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is plush and juicy with a spicy kick on the finish.”
