Here, winemaker Russell Bevan showcases the mountain fruit from the Sage Ridge vineyard whose 1200-foot elevation gives it an extra level of intensity. The Tench Vineyard portion of the wine brings a velvety quality that helps tame the mountain fruit’s structure. Sharing a fence line with the legendary Screaming Eagle vineyard, Tench is equally blessed with the climate, exposure and rock soils that have placed the Oakville appellation among the great wine growing regions of the world. Planted to cabernet clones 4 and 7, the nutrient-depleted soil preserves the purity of the fruit character, yielding wines with an extraordinary mouth-filling texture. Fine grain tannins, a long finish that show cases beautiful red fruit flavors reveals the wine’s feminine side, but there is no mistaking that this wine is all about Cabernet Sauvignon and its amazing purity fruit. 100 cases were produced.
