Vintner and winemaker, Becky George, named “Emerging Winemaker of the Year” in 2019 by Antonio Galloni, honed her craft at both Williams Selyem and Marcassin Wines in Sonoma County and started her own Mojave label back in 2014. The focus is capturing delicious and distinctive expressions of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay coming from some of northern California’s most unique cool-climate terroirs – the Sonoma Coast, Anderson Valley and Santa Cruz Mountains. This newly released 2019 Pinot Noir comes from Wendling Vineyard, the most north westerly vineyard in Anderson Valley AVA. It rests on a 450 foot south-facing slope, just 9 miles from the Pacific Ocean, and offers great drainage. This 2019 is dark and expressive with layers of dark chocolate, red cherry, orange citrus spice and dried herbs.  The palate is rich and plush in style yet backed with a firm tannic backbone and a streak of minerally acidity. 125 cases were produced.
