100% Cabernet Sauvignon, this 2017 made by winemaker Sam Kaplan is outstanding. For the first time, Sam was able to source Cabernet from the famed Vine Hill Ranch Vineyard in Oakville. In total, this newly released vintage comes from five exceptional grower vineyard sites including Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard, Beckstoffer Las Piedras Vineyard, Oakville Ranch, Vine Hill Ranch and Weitz Vineyard in the Oakville east bench. This is a great representation of the best potential of these vineyards combined into one bottling. “Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon features notions of warm red and black currants, plum preserves and mulberries with touches of charcoal, tobacco leaf and sautéed herbs. Medium to full-bodied, the palate is laden with muscular fruit with a sturdy frame of ripe, grainy tannins and plenty of freshness, finishing long and earthy.”
