The 2016 vintage marks the seventh release of Maybach Amoenus, which comes from Blossom Creek Vineyard located on the Western side of Calistoga, where the moderating temperatures of the Black Mountain Gap are 10-15 degrees cooler than on the Eastern side of the Calistoga Palisades. This allows for gradual ripening and full maturation. “The aromas from this deep purple wine will command your attention even with the glass an arm’s length away. The round, enveloping harmony of the aromas resonate with classic Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon highlights: dark fruit, exotic spice, aromatic wood, and ethereal floral notes. The palate experience is precise, layered and drawn out, well after consuming the first taste. Notes of crushed blackberries, clover oil, spearmint and cocoa nibs are expressed seamlessly in the glass. As with many exceptional creations, there is a quality that leaves you immediately wanting more, while also wanting to take time to reflect on the initial experience.” — Thomas Brown, Winemaker. 272 cases were produced.
