A mere 96 cases were produced of this stunning wine made by Helen Keplinger. Sourcing entirely from Oakville Ranch Vineyard, this 2015 marks the second vintage of Helen making Cabernet Sauvignon under her own label, Keplinger. Most know of the Keplinger brand for their Rhone-style Reds, but she has been making Cabernet Sauvignon since the 1999 vintage, when she was the assistant winemaker at Paradigm Winery, then the Winemaker for Kenzo Estate, Bryant Family Vineyard and Grace Family Vineyard more recently. This 100% Cabernet Sauvignon “possesses the same freshness and silkiness found in the 2014, but with more plush tannins and a darker profile. The nose exhibits layers of red cherry, blueberry, black plum, incense, dried aromatic herbs, sandalwood, suede and violets. The silky entry and plush, fine tannins frame the red, blue, and black fruit, with hints of flowers, dried thyme, and pipe tobacco persisting through the long finish. The 2015 is accessible straight from the bottle and will also age without any effort.”
