Ark Vineyard was the second wine coming from their 15-acre, estate vineyard below Howell Mountain and like with past vintages, it is the perfect example of what this property offers in the glass. Notes of black raspberry and dark red fruit fill the glass with secondary notes of wildflowers and graphite. The tannins are completely integrated giving this wine a smooth, long finish. As many have noted, 2016 was an incredible vintage with a long, even growing season and it was especially giving for Hundred Acre’s Ark Vineyard. “Ark Vineyard was originally planted in the 1880s but was sadly lost to Prohibition. It took us five years to rebuild; she is our pride and joy. The ARK is comprised of nine different blocks of Cabernet Sauvignon, planted meter by meter in nine different volcanic soil strata. The vineyard stretches through a sixty-million-year time sequence: three ancient beach fronts, a prehistoric weapons quarry, and spans a 180-degree arc of the sun over its half-mile length.” – vintner, Jayson Woodbridge
