With the help of vintner and grower Lee Hudson’s longtime friend, John Kongsgaard of Kongsgaard Chardonnay fame, this 2017 is one of the best Chardonnays coming out of CA for this vintage. The 2017 is comprised of a blend of four different vineyards from Hudson’s Home Ranch and Henry Road Ranch, all planted to Shot Wente clone. It was barrel fermented with natural yeast in French oak, 60% new, and aged for 14 months in barrel. Opulent notes of brioche and honeyed lemon fill the glass with a toasty hazelnut and exotic citrus notes and refreshing acidity, so your palate stays fresh. The finish is long and satisfying.
