This is another strong, successful effort from Grape Culture team of two- Craig Ploof and Collin Cranor. They surprised us with their outstanding 2019 debut releases and this 2021 is also a showstopper after a generous decant. At about 1700’ above sea level, Nosotros Vineyard sits on a northeast facing hillside of Mount Veeder with incredible exposure. The sandstone and shale soils keep vigor at bay resulting in small berries and small clusters loaded with color. Working with Mountain fruit is much different than working on the valley floor, managing tannins becomes so important during fermentation. Comprised of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, clone 7, “It's showing plenty of mocha-tinged oak but also intricate details of spring flowers and sage, plus ample cassis fruit. Full-bodied, velvety, and long on the finish, it's a terrific-looking barrel sample.” -Robert Parker Wine Advocate. 124 cases were produced.
