Refreshing, crisp and bright, this new vintage of Rosemary Cakebread’s Albariño is a must-try. Rosemary works with Mathew Rorick at his Sierra Foothills Calavaras AVA vineyard which rests at 2142 feet in elevation. The soil is rich in limestone which helps to produce this aromatic White. To keep it vibrant and lively, Rosemary aged this in stainless steel and the wine did not go through malolactic fermentation. She explains that “this vintage has layers of marine salt, lime zest, and the subtle white floral notes with a touch of tropical notes.” This is the only White that Rosemary produces, and it is now one of our favorite, go-to Whites. The price is almost unreal for the quality and fun in the bottle. 250 cases were produced.

Before venturing on her own to launch Gallica, Rosemary Cakebread was the winemaker at Spottswoode for over ten years, producing some of their best vintages.
