Ross Bentley recently visited us so we could taste the 2016 vintage of Flying Lady. After nine years working for Hundred Acre as their director of winemaking, Ross had the opportunity to start his own winery and ventured on his own. Coming from the Oak Knoll AVA in Napa Valley, Ross has produced an incredible 2016 vintage. After letting the wine open in the glass for a few minutes, this new offering offers incredible purple floral notes and red fruit aromas that lead onto the palate with a generously long finish. Comprised of 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, Ross aged the wine in 100% new French oak for 28 months before bottling. It is an incredible wine for the price, and I would liken the flavors to a great Stags Leap District Cabernet.
