Silver Eagle Vineyard is the grower vineyard in which vintner and winemaker Matt Courtney has been sourcing from since his debut 2013 vintage. It is located atop Stoetz Ridge, the second ridgeline in from the Pacific Coastthat divides the remote Sonoma Coast from the Russian River Valley. It gets the best of both worlds- the cooling breezes from the Pacific Ocean and the warmth of the interior valley. This 2018 offers a rare balance of explosive wild berry, mouth-watering acidity, and rich, polished tannins. Matt Courtney is a perfectionist when it comes to making Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. After eight years most recently making wine at Marcassin, Matt now concentrates his efforts on Ferren and Arista, another great Pinot and Chard house on Westside Road in Russian River Valley. 84 cases were produced.
