This 2018 Sonoma Coast AVA Pinot Noir is a blend of barrels from vintner Matt Courtney's two single vineyard offerings, which is roughly half Silver Eagle Vineyard and half Frei Road Vineyard. "The wine is always somewhat more approachable early in its life as we use less new oak in the blend. It’s pure and translucent fruit is the hallmark of this cuvée. Blue and black fruits predominate on the palate with silky, polished tannins providing a seamless mid-palate and finish. Matt Courtney is a perfectionist when it comes to making Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. After eight years most recently making wine at Marcassin, Matt now concentrates his efforts on Ferren and Arista, another great Pinot and Chard house on Westside Road in Russian River Valley. 125 cases produced.
