Silver Eagle Vineyard is the grower vineyard in which vintner and winemaker Matt Courtney has been sourcing from since his debut 2013 vintage. It is located on the second ridgeline in from the Pacific Coast and gets the best of both worlds- the cooling breezes from the Pacific Ocean and the warmth being protected. “The 2017 Pinot Noir Silver Eagle is bold and sumptuous in the glass, with soft curves and pretty floral/savory overtones that add dimension. This is an especially dark, powerful Pinot, but all the elements are wonderfully fused together. Spice, floral and earthy notes lead into the rich, potent finish." Antonio Galloni, Vinous. Matt Courtney is a perfectionist when it comes to making Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. After eight years most recently making wine at Marcassin, Matt now concentrates his efforts on Ferren and Arista, another great Pinot and Chard house on Westside Road in Russian River Valley. Each single vineyard wine he produces has a production of approximately 60-150 cases.
