This is the inaugural vintage produced by husband and wife team Andy Erickson and Annie Favia and it’s delicious. Produced from thirty-year-old vines planted just behind their historic winery in Napa Valley’s Coombsville AVA, this wine possesses “all of the energy, purity and freshness that this noble variety has to offer when it is at its best. With a pale lemon hue glinting with gold on the meniscus, the nose runs the gamut from white-petaled flowers, apples and pears, to citrus peel, piecrust and cream. The palate is replete with notes of lemon curd, tarte Tatin, marzipan and just a hint of fennel. Its creamy texture is balanced with bright acid and lingers on the finish to create full-bodied yet refreshing experience. This wine will continue to unfold and gain complexity with time in the bottle.” While many know of Andy’s winemaking efforts with Dalla Valle, Marciano and previously of Screaming Eagle, Staglin and Dancing Hares, many don’t realize that Annie is a talented viticulturist having worked beside David Abreu in some of the most prestigious vineyards that she helped cultivate for years before launching Favia. 634 cases were produced.
