Edge Hill was considered one of the finest wine estates in Napa Valley until it ceased production in 1907. Inspired by this legacy, Leslie Rudd restored this historic property and is now handcrafting a limited production of select wines, using exceptional grapes from heritage vineyard sites. Bacigalupi Vineyard first garnered the attention of the world when in the 1978 Paris Tasting, the winning Chateau Montelena Chardonnay came from this old vine Chardonnay site. Today, those same vines are what makes this Edge Hill Chardonnay so special. Aromatically the wine has notes of fleshy stone fruits, honey, and a slight amount of honeysuckle. On the palate, the wine is the perfect balance of minerality and richness, with flavors of marzipan, candied lemon peel, and yellow apple.
