This 2016 is one of the most unique Whites coming out of Napa Valley today. Edge Hill was considered one of the finest wine estates in Napa Valley until it ceased production in 1907. Inspired by this legacy, Leslie Rudd restored this historic property in St. Helena and is now handcrafting a limited production of select wines, using exceptional grapes from heritage vineyard sites. This Napa Valley White is a blend of native Italian varieties Ribolla Gialla and Grecco di Tuffo with Grenache Blanc to balance it out. The fruit was fermented in a terra cotta amphora from Italy and neutral French oak barrels to keep the acidity lively. On the nose, notes of pear, stone fruit and subtle floral notes fill the glass with exotic fruit and mineral notes on the finish. A mere 125 cases were produced so I would highly recommend trying a few bottles while it's available. $60/bottle, $294/6-Pack ($49/bottle) with special pricing.
