This is the third release of Crossroads Cabernet Sauvignon and comes from Rudd’s 48-acre vineyard, all 100% estate fruit and is even better than the 2017 vintage. “The aromas of this wine are familiar, notes of bay laurel that remind you of making homemade tomato sauce or the sweet baked spices of mixed berry pies. On the palate, you find a balance of freshness and complexity. At first taste, you are hit with freshly picked blackberries that are warm, juicy, and satisfying, followed up by an earthy and irony tannin presence that is approachable, and reminds you of the red dirt it comes from as it lingers on the finish.” The Crossroads wines are created to be a taste of Rudd wines at a more accessible price without sacrificing the same attention to detail and drive to improve practices, farming, and winemaking year over year that is consistent with Rudd Estate. Crossroads is estate grown, coming from the same vineyards, and crafted by the same winemaking team as Rudd Estate, making it a reflection of the place and the people of Rudd Estate. Despite the pedigree of an Oakville Cabernet Sauvignon and Mt. Veeder Sauvignon Blanc, Crossroads is priced accessibly and is meant to be enjoyed upon release.
