This is one of the best Spring Mountain estate vineyard Cabernet
Sauvignons led by consulting winemaker Francoise Peschon (of VHR, Drinkward
Peschon and Accendo Cellars) and winemaker Elizabeth Tangney. For this vintage,
the selection of fruit that went into the final blend was rigorous. They made
19 separate picks through 20-acres of vineyard with an average of 1.3 tons
picked per acre. Typically, in 2015, yields were more like 3-4 tons per acre.
63% of the pick was used for the final blend. The biggest factor with the 2015
is that the fruit is more settled in its environment and beginning to mature. “The 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon is a total knock
out. Creamy, ample and explosive, the 2015 has a level of richness and textural
intensity that have eluded previous vintages. An exotic mélange of dark cherry
jam, plum, menthol, licorice, leather and spice build as the 2015 shows off its
arresting beauty. The 2015 is a mere infant, but it is alluring, sensual and
incredibly inviting.” – Antonio Galloni, 95+ Points. 735
cases were produced.
