In the past, Bibiana Pisoni produced a single vineyard Chardonnay from Pratt Vineyard and this 2017 marks its new name. This is one of the best Chardonnays in the market today coming from California. Colombian-born, French-trained and previous winemaker for Wayfarer and Pahlmeyer, this is Bibiana’s own label and it continues to be one of the most exciting small producers of great Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. This 2017 Pratt Vineyard Chardonnay from Russian River Valley offers everything I look for in a complex Chardonnay. “The 2017 Chardonnay Call to Adventure has a wonderfully perfumed nose of honeysuckle, nutmeg, cream and fresh peaches with a core of ripe tree fruits and a mineral streak. Light to medium-bodied, it's creamy and luscious in the mouth with spicy fruits and a strong rocky line, lifted by tangy acidity and finishing long.” Interesting to note, Bibiana gets the only 4 rows in Pratt Vineyard that is solely Clone 15, which is an old Wente clone that is comprised of loose clusters which allows for generous air flow between the grapes. 68 cases were produced.
