While only a few wineries are fortunate to source Cabernet Sauvignon from Beckstoffer Dr. Crane Vineyard, Arrow & Branch’s own continues to be one of the best each vintage and this 2019 is a knockout. “The 2019 is a blend of 99% Cabernet Sauvignon and 1% Petite Verdot. Deep garnet-purple in color, it needs coaxing to unlock earthy notes of wet stones, tilled soil, and tar over an emerging core of warm cassis, blackberry pie, and iron ore. The full-bodied palate offers impactful, multilayered black fruits, featuring bags of savory sparks and a firm, fine-grained, texture, finishing fantastically long and mineral laced. An absolute iron fist in a velvet glove!” Led by winemaker Jennifer Williams and viticulturist Mike Wolf, they source their fruit from unique and exquisite vineyard sites, such as Vine Hill Ranch, Beckstoffer Dr. Crane, Arrow & Branch, and Lewelling and Stagecoach. These vineyards are all noted for having exceptional Napa Valley terroir. Mike Wolf has planted and farmed what have become preeminent vineyards in Napa Valley. His magic touch combined with Jennifer's winemaking expertise makes for a stellar combination. Before Jennifer was heading the team at Arrow & Branch, she learned the farming side of wine production with one of the best, David Abreu and soon became the winemaker at Spottswoode. 98 Points, Robert Parker Wine Advocate.
